Chris established EME Engineering in July 2014 – as an integrated engineering, design, energy and project management firm serving the needs of residential, institutional, commercial and industrial clients.

The firm has benefited from the integration of more than 200 years of combined experience of the J.D. Hubbert and Associates team who joined EME during 2016. EME’s team is comprised of experienced engineers, designers, project and construction managers, that can accommodate any size project and provide customized engineering solutions.

EME has a broad service offering including traditional consulting, design of boiler room plants, the design of Solar PV systems, incorporation of alternative energy sources and customized HVAC and plumbing and lighting designs. In all we do, we aim to provide energy efficient and cost effective analysis and solutions. EME has provided services throughout Ontario for multi-million dollar projects, including Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Combined Heat and Power, Grid-Tied Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems. EME’s Barrie and Vaughan offices are strategically located to offer convenient service to much of Central Ontario. Hubbert EME staff hold professional engineering licenses in the following provinces:

British Columbia(r), Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick(r), Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador(r).

Chris is an electrical engineer with mechanical engineering acumen, a business leader dedicated to energy efficient projects including alternative and renewable energy. Key Projects:

TTC – Bus electrification project (2018-2021)

Engineer of record for TTC electrification project. First three bus garage retrofits for electric buses. Project included ESS complete with black start (islanding) capabilities, THD mitigation, protection and control energy management system, complex operational condition set.

Solar PV Design projects (2009-current)

Chris has been the engineer of record for well over 3000 solar PV projects in Ontario, Canada, Ghana, Romania and Guyana. EME’s expertise is in commercial and utility scale solar PV developments. Chris provides protection setting, telemetry data points and utility required commissioning for solar PV systems.

Manitoba Hydro Keewatinoow Camp (2010-2014)

- 800 person work camp in Northern Manitoba including full commercial kitchen, commercial laundry, amenities and sleeping areas

- Collaboration with Fox Lake Cree First Nation

- Liaison weekly with Manitoba Hydro representatives

- Camp constructed of modular structures

- Review work camp construction in factory setting, New Brunswick (Maple Leaf / Kent)
